	<title>Rufus: The Bolt Hunter</title>

	<description><![CDATA[<img src="http://features.cgsociety.org/newgallerycrits/g64/277364/277364_1229553055_small.jpg"><br><br>Based off the concept work in my portfolio, I veered away from the original style.  I wanted to attempt a balance between realistic and toon.  I also restricted my maps and poly count to keep this as a game type character.  This render was with mental ray, but below are some screen grabs of the model out of Maya.  Tangent, Diffuse, AO, Specular Color, and Glow maps have been applied to a basic blinn shader.  <br />
<br />
All normal maps and AO was generated out of XNormal.  <br />
Maya was used for modeling the base and gun, retopo, UV layout, and rendering. Zbrush was used for the character himself on the high res, as well as their polypaint feature for a base color texture.  <br />
<br />
Final polycount, including the gun: 8,236 tris<br />

	<title>Game Character Concept, Rufus</title>

This is a personal project for creating a 3D game character from concept to final model.  I wanted to keep this very illustrative and limited myself to only 3-4 shades of each color and simple line drawing to not only keep it simple, but also create a somewhat cell shaded look.  I'll post up the 3d model once it is finished.  ]]>
